Around the Web: Recipes to try

recipes

You know how sometimes when I don’t feel like writing I’ll just share recipes (and other random things) with you?

Well, folks, it’s another one of those days.

I’m in a weird mood, and I’m sure anything I attempt to put some thought into will become a rant or pity party or something in between. Yeah. No thanks, right?

Right.

So, here you have it, my favorite recipes this week:

Quinoa Patties from Yes, I Want Cake

Homemade Roasted Garlic Oil from How Sweet It Is

Peanut Butter Flaxseed Pancakes from Minimalist Baker

Cheddar Cheese Bread from Shutterbean

Bunny Bread Rolls from Daily Vegetarian

Turkey Taco Casserole from Eat, Live, Run

The Ultimate Loaded Veggie Burger from Edible Perspective

And, as a bonus recipe: Homemade Taco Seasoning from Budget Savvy Diva (for every time a recipe calls for a packet of store-bought taco seasoning).

Happy Wednesday, y’all!

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, but Josh and I aren’t celebrating… yet.

He works retail and has to work tomorrow night while most couples are out having dinner. As strange as it sounds, I’m kind of okay with that.

Yes, I’d love to have Josh home with me Thursday night, but I’m not big on going out to dinner when I know restaurants will be super crowded. Plus, this gives us the chance to save a few bucks and plan a romantic night in this weekend. (I think the one-on-one time will be a lot more enjoyable than having to yell to each other just to talk over the noise in a restaurant.)

Josh has already agreed to spend some time in the kitchen with me (something I find very romantic; I imagine some movie-like scene where we’re both laughing and enjoying ourselves and when something goes wrong, it just adds to the magic–I obviously don’t live in the real world). Once we’ve finished dinner, we’ll watch something on the Roku (probably Breaking Bad). Ice cream will probably be involved. It doesn’t get better than that.

Of course, I do have a couple of small gifts for him for tomorrow before he goes to work. I can’t wait to see him open them!

I was really hoping to make some treats for my friends and to take to work tomorrow, but that’s just not going to be able to happen this year.

Although I won’t be able to celebrate to the extent that I normally do, I’m definitely not willing to be a scrooge about it. I keep daydreaming (umm… Pinteresting?) about all the Valentine-themed foods I wish I could make.

I believe a homemade dish is the perfect way to say “I love you.” So if you’re looking for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift, whip up one of these goodies:

Have a happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow!

Weekend Reads and Recipes

This week has been ca-ha-ha-razy for me. I haven’t had a chance to think of what I want to write about for {infatuation friday} this week, nor do I think I’ll have the time later tonight. So instead of reading me ramble on and on and on, you get a few links to articles and recipes that I think you’ll enjoy. So… enjoy!
