My dad and I haven’t always had the best relationship, but it’s getting stronger. I like that.
When I was itty bitty, my dad was probably the coolest guy I knew. Of course, I could’ve been a little biased, since I was a bit of a daddy’s girl. Then the summer I turned 7 years old, my parents separated, quickly changing my views of and my relationship with my dad for years to come. You can read more about that here.
Now my dad and I are cool again. I’ve grown up and decided my time is better spent building relationships than burning bridges.
Some of the awesome things I’ve done with my dad in the past five years include seeing several concerts (including Eric Church, Darius Rucker, Gretchen Wilson, Styx, Hinder and more), going to Oktoberfest, watching a hockey game, throwing parties, watching snow fall and making lots of great memories.
