Hey there, Halloween

Welp, today is the day.I’ve got may cat ears on and am ready for some Halloween fun.

f69bda1840f011e3bede22000aeb43a7_8Josh and I tried to set up a little get-together for tonight, but it will only be the two of us and one of his friends. (We’ll have a blast anyway.) The plan is to have pumpkin chili and s’more brownies while watching Halloween flicks. (Josh bought Rocky Horror for me a few nights ago, and we are both super excited to watch it.)

And, since this is the first Halloween I’ve spent at home in about three years (I usually travel to spend time with my mom because her birthday is so close to Halloween), I’m really hoping we get some trick-or-treaters at our door. Fingers crossed tonight’s rain doesn’t ruin trick-or-treating tonight.

I haven’t decided yet whether I’ll be doing a little crafting. (I’m hoping to make the spider candy basket.)

Last night, Josh and I had some pre-Halloween fun. We watched Paranorman (finally!) while eating some delicious, sweet popcorn with sprinkles.

And today, my workplace had some interesting activities too. There was a pumpkin-decorating contest (with some impressive entries), a costume contest, a pie-eating contest and a pumpkin-seed-spitting contest. I only stuck around for the first two. There was also a Chubby Bunny competition while votes for the costume contest were tallied. I wasn’t sure if I should be amused or disgusted (I think I felt a little of both).

Oh, and in case you were wondering, I am a cat again.

Happy Halloween!

13 Fun Halloween Movies to Watch

I hate scary movies with an incredible passion.

Watching  scary movies usually ends in me freaking out for days or months, thinking something is coming after me.

After watching Chuckie when I was 8 years old, I spend at least a month thinking one of my dolls would come to life and try to kill me. No joke.

Resident Evil gave me nightmares about my friends and family turning into zombies and trying to eat my brains.

30 Days of Night had me thinking every creak and bump at night was a bloodthirsty vamp ready to rip out my throat.

You can see why watching scary movies is just not going to work for me.

So for Halloween each year, I like to watch the more lighthearted holiday-related films. You know, so I can actually sleep at night.

Here’s what I’d like to watch this year:

  1. Rocky Horror Picture Show
  2. Corpse Bride
  3. Hocus Pocus
  4. It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
  5. Dracula: Dead and Loving It
  6. Paranorman
  7. Ghostbusters
  8. Creepshow
  9. Beetlejuice
  10. Edward Scissorhands
  11. The Nightmare Before Christmas
  12. Scooby-Doo
  13. Casper
